This week I’ve been vacationing on the west coast with my family and wow! Such beauty. We’ve seen everything from desert that stretches for miles to buildings that reach into the sky.
Oohs and ahhs just don’t cover it. But as we stared in awe at the sunset God painted over the ocean I had a thought in the back of my mind.
How come we gasp in amazement over the land and animals and sky and stars but not when we look in the mirror?
Why is it that it’s so easy to appreciate the beauty in all other creation but not ourselves?
Why is that so hard?
Hear me out girl:
You are one of the most significant creations God formed. Yes, YOU. The girl who feels like she has nothing figured out and keeps making the same mistakes. The girl who wishes she could change a million things about herself. The girl that’s sad and left out and heartbroken today.
The same God that made the stars and galaxies and mountains made you too. He spoke your name before you existed. And not only did he make you, he loves you more than you’re even capable of understanding. He loves you despite all of the things that make you messy and unworthy and flawed. How incredible is that?
I was reminded of this these past few days and wanted to pass on the reminder to you. You were created by a God who doesn’t make mistakes. The proof of that is in the beautiful creation that surrounds us everyday. The awesome part is that it was all put here for us. For you.
You matter, friend. God created you with a purpose and you are here for a reason.
Don’t forget it 🙂
