stop living in the weight of your past.

If you had it to do all over again, would you?
This question has been weighing heavily on my heart recently and I thought I’d share the answer that I finally came around to.
Yes because I learned and grew and am a better person because of it. Yes because I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t gone through it. Yes because God uses everything for his glory, even the things that hurt and bring tears.
And YES because it’s helping me help others who are going through the same thing.
If it was all just for that one reason then that’s more than enough for me.
All of that being said, let me share one more thing with you today:
stop living in the weight of your past. Stop tormenting yourself with thoughts like “if I had only known sooner” or “if I hadn’t made that decision” or “maybe life would be different if”. Please don’t pick up something you’ve already laid down at Jesus’s feet.
Focus on how you can be a better you today, how you can grow from the things you wish had gone differently, and how God is going to use you in the lives of others. Focus on the woman you’re becoming, not on the girl you used to be.
Jesus went to the cross for you and proclaimed that it was finished. He’s already paid the price for every wrong thing you’ve done and every wrong thing you will do.
He only ever asked for your heart in return. Give him every single part of it and watch the amazing things he’ll do.
